Offensive foul. One foot or both feet may be off the floor for defensive player if he moving laterally, but not towards the player with the ball.

Offensive foul. The defender moves laterally but still he remains with a legal guading position as the principles of time and distance do not aplly.

No call looks good for me it's light contact. Lead referee have a bad angle in this situation, he shouldn't be under the basket.

In my opinion defensive player set up legal guarding position. She is moving laterally to defend. That's why we can't punish the defender. The contact is not so strong. In my opinion no call.

In my opinion defensive foul, because defensive player late and did not reach the legal defense posistion.

Very intersting situation.
The defender did a good job, legal guarding position established.
On the drive to the basket a contact occured, and the referees, who had a good position did not call anything. We can see that one referee (Trail) did (unofficial FIBA signal) in pointing the direction (let's go). The referee Team decided to let it go and gave a "No-call", what for me in this situation was a good decision. The offensive team, reached their goal, and made a basket, so nobody will complain if you "let the music play".
When we think about charge/block, no-call and or flopping by defender, we should leave the last options by side, if the defender did a good job, he can't be punished. so we have one option --> charge?
But we should think about: advantage / disadvantage, a player on the floor can not play basketball neither defence nor offense. so he was placed in disadvantage after the contact.
Charge ?
To conclude, in this situation "best call - No-call

For me No-call is a good option. The defender has a good legal position, and maintains it. Even if he is out of the non-charge semi circle, it's a light contact. I believe that for the game, this contact should not be called.

The defender had legal guarding position but contact was not very strong. For me is a no call situation.

Offensive foul.Because defensive player set up legal guarding position, offens ive player should stop. Defensive player's action is not flopping.

Defense player does not do anything wrong (legal defense position, movement sidewards or backwards and contact on the torso) but not a hard contact - no call (as decided here) is a good solution!

For me it's a no call. Good D - play by defender and too small contact to call a charge. In my opinion Lead's position is not so good in this situation, because he was directly under the blackboard and from that place he saw only back of defensive player.

Legal defender. Small contact. no call.
L shouldn't go under the basket

4 me - no call, as it was called in the game. L ref should not be so penetrated under the basket.

The defensive player has a legal defensive position when contact happens, the offensive player doesn't do any excessive move as charging the defense. Contact is light, maybe flopping. Looks like no call to me.
The lead referee cannot see what happens, he doesn't see the space between the players, from there he can only guess and would need the help of the trail (2 men here) who is far away.
Arkadiusz Wojna

In my opinion - no call, that was a incidental contact
Tomasz Langowski
#22 Tomasz Langowski 2013-08-20 11:23
The defender moves laterally in a legal defensive position. The offensive player makes a normal, natural move to the basket and contact isn't strong. No call in my opinion.

I also think that it should be NO CALL decision but I'm not quite sure if the contact is in torso of defensive player. Defender established LGP and moved according the rules. Contact was caused by offensive player and looks like soft one. Also reaction of the defender looks like he would fall down. The Lead referee should not be under the basket to make good decision but stay outside the paint.
Chris Chapman

No call. Legal guarding position established by defender and soft contact from offensive player who is also going slightly away from the basket. Lead would have had a better position if he had stayed to the left of the key (starting lead position)
Manuel Maia

For me, the best decision is no call. The defensive player is in a legal position and the contact is legal and not relevant.

My decision:
No call.
LGP established, slight contact.
Lorenzo Ferroni
#27 Lorenzo Ferroni 2013-08-21 11:55
No call.
There is a light movment in extension from the offense, but it's not enough for call a foul. Defensive position is not the best, ma he has not advantage from the situation.
So no call.

It's no call situation. Lead position is not very good. He schould stand more on the right side of basket.
Jakub Zamojski
#29 Jakub Zamojski 2013-08-23 20:42
The most important in this situation is that L referee put himself into possition that he can only guess how strong contact was, or may be flop or...(what nobody mention) when ofensive player jump from the court - and as we all know this is very important , as we change the rule to "defence player in the air". But look how easy it is when you have good possition.
Michał Pietrakiewicz

Legal defensive position, contact wasn't big - for me no call.

No call is a good decision for this scene. L referee also had a good position to take his decision.
